El nuevo film protagonizado por Camila Mendes (Veronica en Riverdale) se ha llevado la atención del público pero no la de la crítica.
Llegar a ser el número uno del top 10 de lo más visto en Netflix no es nada fácil cuando tienes en la misma plataforma series como La casa de papel, Summertime, Élite o toda la saga de Harry Potter. Sin embargo, pero Dangerous Lies ha aparecido, caminando poco a poco entre visualizaciones para llegar y colocarse en el primer lugar.
¿De qué trata esta película? Nos encontramos delante de una trama muy propia del cine americano donde Leonard, un anciano rico y poderoso, muere y sorprende a todo el mundo dejando su fortuna a la nueva chica que le cuida, Katie (Camila Mendes). Lo que ella desconocía era que esa increíble donación de su fallecido jefe le iba a provocar una serie de locuras inesperadas, adentrándola en una red de engaño y asesinatos. ¿Cómo saldrá de ello? Tendrá que gestionar diferentes pruebas o motivos que la rodean, implicando a personas que ella quiere como su marido Adam, quien llevaba pocas semanas también trabajando en la casa de Leonard.

Con una buena recepción por parte del público, Dangerous Lies no ha recibido la misma suerte de la opinión de la crítica. Presenta una muy buena estética, en especial de la casa, sus interiores y el garaje, y Camila y Jessie ( Katie y Adam) muestran una conexión muy clara que traspasa la pantalla, haciendo creíble el amor que transmiten y el dolor y nervios que viven a causa de la situación inesperada que les ha tocado vivir, mostrándonos la imágen de una pareja que está al borde del abismo. Pero en contraste con ello, Dangerous Lies presenta una lógica bastante ilógica (valga la redundancia) porque al ver el tráiler se nos ofrece un nuevo thriller pero al ver la película vemos una trama bastante simple y típica, poco novedosa.
La unión de Mendes y Usher es la esencia que mantiene la atención del espectador hacia la película
La simpleza de una película visualmente bonita con unas buenas actuaciones del cast que la completa han hecho que Dangerous Lies se gane la medalla de oro del público pero el agradecimiento solo de la crítica. Buena para pasar el rato pero nada más allá.
