‘Madres’, una serie hecha y protagonizada por mujeres

Amazon Prime estrena el próximo 8 de mayo Madres, una serie española que explica las historias vitales de seis madres que acompañan a sus hijos en sus diferentes tratamientos en el hospital.

Madres ya está disponible en Amazon Prime Video. La serie entrelaza las historias vitales, las relaciones y los conflictos de seis madres que atraviesan una misma etapa: sus hijos están enfermos y reciben tratamiento en el mismo hospital.

La serie seguirá el día a día de las áreas de maternidad y pediatría de un hospital materno-infantil a través de los médicos, pacientes y sus familiares, poniendo en el centro a las mujeres que aparcan sus vidas profesionales desde el momento en que son ingresados, después de cruzar las puertas del hospital. Juntas, deben afrontar la incertidumbre de un diagnóstico, las relaciones con el personal sanitario, o las consecuencias del paso del tiempo fuera de casa que arrastra las relaciones entre los miembros de una misma unidad familiar.

La ficción ha en total grabado 26 capítulos y, una vez estrenada en Amazon Prime, se emitirá en Telecinco. La serie está producida por Mediaset España en colaboración con Alea Media y forma parte de un acuerdo firmado por el grupo de comunicación y la plataforma de streaming bajo demanda.

Hecha y protagonizada por mujeres

Actualmente, la paridad entre hombres y mujeres aún no es visible en la industria audiovisual y, en este sentido, nos alegra encontrar producciones en las que sean mujeres quiénes produzcan, dirijan o protagonicen algunas series, películas u otro producto audiovisual. El reparto, como no podía ser de otra manera, también está protagonizado por mujeres, todas muy conocidas en el sector cinematográfico español como Belén Rueda, Aida Folch, Carmen Ruiz, Mónica Cruz, Rosario Pardo y Vicky Luengo.

En el equipo técnico también hay presencia femenina: la serie está dirigida por cuatro mujeres (Mar Olid, Juana Macías, Abigail Schaaff y Roser Aguilar); en el equipo de guion, las mujeres también juegan un papel importante; y, respecto a la dirección de fotografía, también es capitaneada por una mujer (Raquel Fernández Núñez).

Una serie basada en una experiencia real

Madres está inspirada en las vivencias de su creador, Aitor Gabilondo (también creador de series como El príncipe). Su vida hasta la mayoría de edad se basaba en entrar y salir del hospital continuamente a causa de problemas renales, acompañado siempre de su madre. Como ella, veía otras madres acompañando a sus hijos. De esta manera, Gabilondo pretende rendir homenaje a todas esas madres que están tiempo prolongado en el hospital junto a sus hijos. De hecho, él mismo ha llegado a confesar que el personaje que interpreta Belén Rueda es un homenaje a su madre.
