Llega a Netflix la adaptación de las novelas de Elisabet Benavent, ‘Valeria’

Valeria, Lola, Nerea y Carmen llegan para hablarnos de la naturaleza de las relaciones, tanto sexuales como emocionales, de nuestra sociedad de hoy en día.

8 capítulos componen esta adaptación de las novelas de Elisabet Benavent donde nos encontramos a Valeria, una joven chica recién casada de la mano de Adri, ese bohemio fotógrafo que ha perdido aquella esencia que la enamoró. Con un futuro prometedor en la literatura, Valeria se encuentra preparada delante de ordenador para empezar a escribir el primer borrador de su novela. Sin embargo,el síndrome del impostor le acecha por la cabeza. ¿Quiénes le ayudaran a reencontrarse? Sus amigas, Lola, Carmen y Nerea y una cuarta persona, totalmente inesperada que le dará ese giro de 360 grados tan necesario, Víctor.

En Valeria encontramos tanto puntos a favor como en contra. Por un lado, esta serie es necesaria por la realidad que transmite junto con la naturaleza que muestra a la hora de hablar del sexo. Nos enseña la visión de que no es tan “de color de rosa” ni “perfecto” como nos presentan todas las series.

Otro punto a favor es la unión entre ellas, la sinceridad de una buena amistad que vive sus baches porque crecen juntas, sufren la vida unidas y son humanas. Fallarán pero siempre se acabaran reencontrando y escuchando, dándose el abrazo y la sonrisa que necesita la otra para poder empezar de nuevo ycoger la fuerza que necesite.

Y otro hecho importante, la variedad de temáticas que trata esta serie: desde el matrimonio y su aceptación del final de la felicidad, la homosexualidad femenina y la gran lucha que se vive en su aceptación, los complejos que todos tenemos y por los cuales nos cuesta en muchos casos creer que le gustamos a alguien de verdad y el abandono de un familiar, quien con el tiempo se da cuenta de su error e intenta enmendarlo.

Una amistad sincera y real, Valeria presenta un mundo con el que podemos sentirnos identificados. 

Pero, obviamente ninguna serie es perfecta y en especial procediendo de un libro número uno en ventas el cual tiene un gran número de fieles lectores detrás. Muchas de esas personas que se enamoraron de la escritura de Elisabet se han sentido un poco “engañados” o “decepcionados”por muchos elementos que no han encontrado en la serie o por maneras de transmitir la trama de los libros. Por ello, si eres lector de la “Saga Valeria” antes de ver la serie considérala una adaptación bastante libre, que mantiene los cimientos del libro pero no encontraras una representación 100% fiel.

Netflix ha apostado por el talento de una de las autoras más reconocidas del panorama literario español, dándole voz e imagen a unos personajes que salieron de la mente de una chica que quería hacerle ver al mundo que la vida no es tan fácil como nos la pintan las películas americanas. Después de ver los 8 capítulos de Valeria, desde El Foco consideramos que lo ha hecho y con creces. Por eso me fue imposible no hacer la comparación de estas cuatro amigas con Sexo en Nueva York, cuatro mujeres libres y sin tapujos hablando de la vida.
