Los fans de One Republic se convierten en los protagonistas del videoclip de ‘Better Days’

El grupo americano ha publicado el videoclip de su canción Better Days y ha querido hacer partícipes a sus fans incluyendo sus vídeos grabados durante el confinamiento.

One Republic se ha sumado a los artistas y grupos musicales que con el confinamiento han querido aproximarse a sus fans y suscribirse a iniciativas que recauden dinero para combatir el Coronavirus. Ellos han decidido que la cara visible de su nueva canción Better Days sean sus propios fans. La canción formará parte de Human, su quinto álbum de estudio, que iba a salir a la venta el 8 de mayo pero cuyo lanzamiento ha tenido que ser pospuesto por las circunstancias actuales.

Querían mostrar la resiliencia de sus fans en medio de la pandemia

Para poder salir en el videoclip, los fans de One Republic tuvieron que mandar vídeos en los que salieran confinadoso manteniendo la distancia de seguridad. El grupo recibió miles de vídeos en una sola semana en los que aparecían fans bailando en casa o en el supermercado, mostrando carteles de apoyo, jugando con mascotas, cantando en el coche o mostrando las vistas desde su terraza o azotea.

En el vídeo también aparecen presentadores de televisión emocionados, personal sanitario e imágenes que tocan la fibra a quien lo vea. Sobre todo, lo que transmite es fuerza y esperanza. En los subtítulos del mismo videoclip, One Republic expresa que ha creado este videoclip “para mostrar resiliencia en medio de la pandemia global”.

Quieren incentivar las donaciones a United Nations Foundation

A su vez, este videoclip es una excusa para animar a colaborar en la lucha contra el COVID-19a toda persona que entre en Youtube a verlo. El grupo estadounidense ha habilitado una opción en Youtube para que puedas donar a United Nations Foundation y ayudar “a garantizar que los pacientes puedan recibir la atención que necesitan, a que los trabajadores de primera línea obtengan suministros e información esenciales y para acelerar los esfuerzos para desarrollar vacunas, pruebas y tratamientos”.

Los miembros de One Republic estuvieron expuestos al virus 

Tal y como contaba hace unas semanas su cantante Ryan Tedder, sobre el 15 de marzo tuvieron que confinarse por haber estado expuestos al virus durante su gira europea, que se acababa de terminar. Durante los primeros días de confinamiento terminaron el tema y lo grabaron, y este acabó saliendo a la luz el 25 de marzo.

Como a muchas otras formaciones musicales, la situación actual les ha afectado en la salida de su próximo disco Human y en la gira que tenían programada para el resto del año y, por el momento, habrá que esperar para saber novedades sobre el grupo formado por Ryan Tedder, Zach Filkins, Brent Kutzle,Drew Browny Eddie Fisher.
